Hormone-free is the "breast" defense
Speaking of hormones and breast cancer, here's a disturbing (but not surprising - at least not to me) story that further proves what's been said by myself and others on the fringe of the medical mainstream for years...
That synthetic hormone therapy causes cancer.
According to a recent Associated Press article summarizing the findings of a Harvard-affiliated analysis of more than 70,000 women enrolled in the famous Nurses Health Study, those who took one popular prescription hormone drug (a blend of estrogen and testosterone called Estratest) for relief from their menopause-related symptoms risked breast cancer at a far greater rate than those who did not take hormones.
The findings, published in a recent issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine, pinpointed this increased risk at 250%!
That's enough of a margin to make any menopausal woman rethink suffering through those hot flashes, isn't it?
Just to clarify: It's true that the correlation between hormone therapy and cancer hasn't been entirely overlooked by the mainstream medical establishment or the media, in my opinion it has been given a severe short-shrift. After all, a 2.5 times increase in risk is major news...
